Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity, and sound speech that cannot be condemned...
TITUS 2:7-8 ESV
Hi, I'm David
I admire your courage.
I know you have courage because you are here seeking to be an all-around better man, accomplished in your calling, and highly successful.
I am sure you are thinking, "Yes, I am, but can you help me get there?" Allow me to put a resounding word in your head. YES!!
Having spent over 35 years training as a life coach and counselor, along with life experiences and character qualities, prepared me to be the best coach for you.
The older I get, the clearer I see that life teaches better than school. But I am thankful for the excellent education that prepared me for life.
I majored in psychology and business at Berry College. I furthered my education by earning two graduate degrees in Counseling Psychology from Georgia State University. Concurrently, I received a certification in Christian Counseling from the Psychological Studies Institute, which is now Richmont Graduate University.
My most valued training was in Imparting the Father's Heart at the Toronto Airport School of Ministry along with Shiloh Place Ministries.
Inner healing through Restoring the Foundations.
My coaching training is through Creative Results Management, and an ICF approved coaching mastery certificate program. Soon, I will be professionally credentialed as an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) and Board-Certified Coach. I will formally practice what I have been doing informally for over 37 years.
Dad died when I was 8, so I had to learn to be a man by trial and error—lots of error! Men in my church and my first job helped me learn about manhood. Lots of training.
Life has taught me how to do things right by doing them wrong first--finally getting the hang of right.
I have been married a total of 29 years---with one divorce: again, lots of trials and errors! Lots and lots of training.
One loving and supportive wife, three adult daughters, two adult stepdaughters, one adult stepson, four sons-in-law, one granddaughter, one step-granddaughter, and six step-grandsons. Lots and lots and lots of training.
I practiced counseling psychology and life coaching in private practice, churches, and hospital emergency rooms for over 37 years.
I served as a Minister of Education, Teacher, Deacon, Leader of Cell Groups, and Worship Leader for many years.
Experienced God real and close up at the Brownsville Revival and later experienced God as my Father at the Toronto Revival. Then everything about life, leadership, and manhood made sense!!.
I wrote a book about experiencing God as Father.
Miles and miles of hiking and backpacking. Lots of wins and losses on the golf course with my wife, tennis court with my best friend, and softball field with my buds. Miles of sweat, aches, and pains running with my daughter.
HOW CAN THAT HELP ME?
Formal training and life experience fine-tuned the natural and spiritual gifts given by God and helped me become keenly aware of how I can help
The determining factors in knowing if a life coach is worth his or her salt are the character qualities they exhibit while helping people. Qualities of a great coach recognized within my life by family, friends, bosses and clients and by numerous personality test
I am aware of my strengths and weaknesses. I know my values, passions, and purpose. Whether I like it or not, I am self-aware!
Because I can read me, I can read you. I will be able to see traits, good and bad, in you that you may have never known were there.
Once seen, then they can give you the power to succeed or get out of the way so you can prosper.
Yes, I believe in God, but that’s not what I’m talking about here. I believe in you. I have faith that you, with the right guidance from the Holy Spirit and me, can discover solutions to your problems or find direction for your life
I believe that you have the potential within you to get past the fears, to stop the foolishness, to shake off the struggles, to find answers, and lead on to get to where you want to go.
Sensitive Yet Strong
Not sensitive in the sense of crying at movies or getting my feelings hurt easily, rather sensitive in being able to relate well to your life. I will listen attentively to your words—spoken and unspoken.
I will respect you and stand by you, regardless of what you leak. I will care enough about you to not let you sabotage yourself; I will speak up to you for your good.
Feeling heard and understood will naturally cause you to do something you stopped yourself from doing long ago---TRUST!! But without trust, we can’t have a coaching relationship. If we don’t have a relationship, you will just stay stuck.
My training and experience can inspire thought-provoking questions.
I can see the unseen in your verbal and non-verbal communications.
I can help you understand what causes you to act the way you do, what your wife sees that you can’t, and why you spin your wheels instead of getting where you want to be.
If you are a typical guy, you live on the surface, problem-solving, rarely feeling level. I can help you understand what lies beneath the surface of your thoughts and emotions.
Flexible and Insightful
I do not have a “do it my way” game plan. You set the game plan and I must be flexible in finding fresh ways to move forward toward success.
For lasting change to occur, I must help you have new insight into yourself and see your future path and the rocks and roots along the way. Once seen, encourage action steps to trek life’s path.
This quality will help you by giving you hope and encouragement that your life, your work, your…whatever, will be better as you see life from a different perspective.
